Welcome to Tiger Class!

Year 1/2 is an exciting year full of fun and investigative learning! Children continue to develop important social skills such as independence, resilience and how to be good friends. Our creative curriculum is heavily based on the arts with daily singing for all pupils both in class and as a whole school, as part of our daily worship. In Tiger class we aim for a happy, stimulating and safe environment where all children can reach their full potential. Pupils are encouraged to work together and inspire in each other a love of learning. During CI (child initiated) time, we allow children to become independent learners, having a level of choice during this time, helps us to nurture happy engaged children. We understand the importance of making mistakes – as this is how we learn! We will do this in a friendly and supportive environment where everyone is an important member of the class.
This year our topics will include People and their Communities, My family history, Our Wonderful World, The Great explorers, Our local area and Our local heroes.
