The Dog Mentor Programme has built upon the benefits of the human-animal bond by providing children positive experiences with dogs that can help them educationally, developmentally, emotionally and socially.  Sallie is our current in school dog who offers support to children during the day.  She is able to 'meet and greet' children who may be anxious about coming into school, she can offer a distraction and comfort to children who feel wobbly during the school day, calm children when they feel strong emotions such as  anger come and the year 6 children have the responsibility of walking her a break and lunchtimes which help[s build their independence and confidence.
