Welcome to Falcon Class, where Year 5 and Year 6 are in for an adventure of learning this term! We’ll be exploring our local environment, starting with a walk to the park or library to see if we can spot how things change around us! 

In Geography, we’ll discover how our surroundings are evolving, while Science will take us on a journey through the stages of human development—from childhood to old age (don’t worry, we’re not getting that old yet!). 

In our English lessons, Year 5 will dive into “Young, Gifted and Black” and the thrilling adventures of Matthew Henson in "Race to the Frozen North". Year 6 will follow the mighty “King Kong” by Anthony Browne. In Guided Reading, Year 5s will read "Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls", Year 6 will journey back in time with "When We Were Warriors". At the end of the school day, our whole class will enjoy the story of the “Winter of the Wolves” this term! 

In Maths, Year 5 will tackle Place Value and master Addition and Subtraction, while Year 6 will juggle Multiplication, Division, and more! Don’t forget, we’ll be practising our Spanish pronunciation in MFL, so “hola” to new language skills! 

We’ll also be discussing What kind of king Jesus is in RE, ensuring we stay safe online with E-Safety, and learning how to cope with changes in RSHE. 

It’s going to be a busy, fun-filled term for all of us!
