KS2 Assessment Results 2019
The key stage 2 tests 2019 assess children against the national standard in maths, reading and grammar, punctuation and spelling. The children are also assessed in writing by moderation between our teaching staff and other schools at county level.

These are the average scaled scores for Reading and Maths.
Progress from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2
Progress is calculated by the government by comparing how pupils from a similar starting point (Key stage 1) achieve at the end of Key Stage 2. The average nationally is then made into 0. Positive progress scores, above zero, shows that children have made more progress than those nationally. Once a progress score has been found it is compared with other schools nationally to find which category it can be put in for progress.

Key Stage 1 Assessment Results 2019
The Key stage 1 assessment data is from Teacher Assessment and national testing. The judgements are for those reaching expected standard and those who are working at a higher standard (greater depth). The judgements are externally moderated by our staff with other schools at county level.

Year 1 Phonics Trend 2018
Year 1 children are assessed on their phonic knowledge by reading both real words and alien words. 80% of our Year 1 children passed the Phonics check this year and as you can see from the graph below this was a 9% increase from the previous year.

The break down of the marks that the children achieved this year is shown below – 32 marks was a pass.
The children who do not achieve the required level are reassessed in Year 2. Of the 17 children who had not passed in 2018 13 passed in 2019.
Early Years and Foundation Stage 2019
At the end of Early Years the children are assessed against the Early Learning Goals. These goals are split into a variety of areas. The Prime areas of development are: Communication; Language and Literacy; Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. There are then specific areas of development which are Literacy, Mathematical Development; Understanding the world and Expressive Arts. Children are finally judged to have achieved a “Good Level Of Development” if they have all the Prime Learning Goals as well as the specific goals in Literacy and Mathematical Development. As in other areas all of our evidence for these statements are moderated externally by local schools and County Advisors.
