At Langafel it is important to us that parents and carers are involved as much as possible in their child’s school life. We offer many opportunities throughout the academic year for parents and carers to visit the school to see their child participate in a range of activities including: Class assemblies, open classrooms, parents evening, sports day, concerts, church services, workshops, parents evening to name but a few.
We would like to thank all parents and carers for your support at these events and look forward to future opportunities to continue to share your child’s learning with you.
Making Anderson Shelters
Many parents came into school to help their children to make Anderson Shelters, following on from their topic on World War 2. It was a very successful morning with some fantastic shelters created. Thank you to every parent who was able to make it and support their child in their learning.
Many thanks to Mr Baker, Austen and Dylan’s Dad, who came to work with pupils in Phase 5-6 on some science workshops on exothermic reactions. As you can see from the photographs, they thoroughly enjoyed it.
Parents came in to school to help children in Phase 3-4 to build minibeast hotels. Pupils had worked hard all morning researching, designing and planning their structures and everyone loved putting their ideas into practise and working together as a team to create hotels that any bug would be proud to visit. Some couldn’t even wait for the construction to be completed and moved in immediately, much to the pupils’ delight. The structures are on the grass area outside the 3-4 classrooms, so come and have a look at them and see how many creatures you can spot! Many thanks and well done to everyone who was able to help out.
Pupils from Koala, Tiger and Wolf Class led a special Easter Worship. Following the service the children worked alongside their parents to create an Easter Bonnet.
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for this event. We are certain that this is something that the children will always remember.
KS1 Share and Learn Afternoon
The children and adults had a lovely time during their share and learn afternoon. Mums, dads and nans all got creative as they helped their children make pictures of Spring flowers to add to our ‘Spring garden’ in the corridor.
It was also lovely to see everyone taking time to relax and enjoy a story sharing session. A great time was had by all and we are looking forward to future share and learn sessions.
Thank you to the parents who attended the three behaviour talks. At Langafel we have a consistent approach to behaviour which is clear and helps children to understand their rights and responsibilities. We know the link and support between home and school are essential so for those parents who could not attend please view the presentation that was shared here.
Thank you to all parents who gave up some time to work with Langafel staff to clear the garden area in front of the school. We are very grateful to Mrs Cliffe and Mrs Turner for their return visits to continue the hard work started. Our next project is the school pond. So if you are are able to get involved please contact the school office.
